ABOUT ME
As a child, I struggled to understand math. I dreaded it. Thankfully, as an adult, I had mentors to show me that math is beautiful and understandable and that all children should have access to this type of math learning.
As a mathematics consultant, I strive to help teachers find excitement and understanding in mathematics so they can bring that excitement and understanding to their students.
I have over 20+ years of teaching, leading, coaching, and consulting experience in mathematics. Most recently, I completed my doctoral degree in Educational Leadership with a focus on mathematics. In my dissertation, The Enactment of Equitable Mathematics Teaching Practices: An Adapted Gap Analysis, I studied the knowledge, motivation, and organizational supports necessary for helping teachers to be able to ensure all students have a deep understanding of mathematics and develop a positive mathematics identity.
I believe in collaborating with all school community members from leaders to teachers to teaching assistants to parents and students, to transform mathematics teaching and learning. When you work with me, you should expect fun and interactive sessions both in and out of the classroom to push your thinking.
